Waterton Lakes National Park is in southern Alberta, Canada, bordering Montana’s Glacier National Park. It’s known for its chain of lakes, including the large Upper and Middle Waterton lakes, flanked by the Rocky Mountains.
Well worth the short drive south. Beautiful mountain scenery and breathtaking lake views.
One of the best, and still small, Alberta national parks to visit. I love the ice cream and candy shops, the art galleries, the bike rentals, and the hikes. An easy one to try is Bears Hump or go visit Red Rock Canyon for some spectacular rock walls and climbing fun.
