This church is characteristic for its positioning, survived the earthquake of 1908, it is located at a lower level than the rest of the city.

Miracously survived to the devastating 1908 earthquake, this beautiful church is still laying on the old griund level, roughly 3 meters beneath the current one.

The church has been built under Norman age around the 1150 a.C. It's very peculiar for his own architectural style which is the result of Romanesque features, Arab influences, Byzantine details all combined harmoniously together.
