If you're visiting with kids, Los Cerritos Park is a must. It's a quiet neighborhood park, with lush, wide open spaces, bbq pits, picnic tables, a large play structure, and well kept restrooms. Voted top 3 public parks in Long Beach.

There's a great big playground here, and a walk next to the revitalized section of the LA river--the Dominguez Gap Wetlands--through the nearby gate.
