Ensign Peak – This short uphill hike above the Utah State Capitol Building offers panoramic views of the Salt Lake Valley. There is a monument at the top because Brigham Young hiked to this peak soon after arriving in the valley.

Great short hike (about 2 miles round trip) that overlooks the entire Salt Lake valley and city.

Beautiful short hike near downtown. Great for kids. The final lookout covers about 260 degrees of the city including downtown and the Great Salt Lake.
