The tram Athens is a transport track means in Athens . In its present form, the tram is in Athens since 2004 . But first appeared in the city in 1882 in the form of horse-drawn vehicles. In 1908 the first released electric vehicles. Gradually, the tram network reached 21 lines. But the operation was stopped in 1960 when trams were replaced by electric buses (trolley) buses and heat. The modern tram has three lines. The two of them, having first common path connecting the center of Athens, via the New World and New Smyrna , with Paleo Faliro and from there, follow separate but coastal routes, with a line directed towards Neo Faliro , and the other to Voula . The third line combines the coastal sections of the other two, by directly connecting Neo Faliro to Voula.
